Ashland Area Fishing Report

~ Fishing Guide Roger LaPenter from Anglers All, (715)-682-5754, http://www.anglersallwisconsin.com Reports: The winds have been too high and cold to encourage any anglers to try their hand at fishing the big lake. This time of year is a waiting game for the ice to freeze over and be safe enough to ice fish. The Inlands are usually the first waters to show safe ice but it will be a while yet. For a safe ice fishing reports give us a call at Anglers All and we will keep you informed on the ice conditions. In the mean time, check over your ice fishing gear and be prepared for the upcoming exciting season

~Fishing Guide Nate Baron from Up North Guide Service and Fishing Guide Scott Bretting from River Rock Inn and Bait Shop, 715-682-3232 http://riverrockinn.net Reports: Hard water fishing is just around the corner. There are some reports of anglers getting on the ice this past weekend. Most area Lakes are unsafe with a few inland Lakes having up to 3" of ice. Proceed with caution at this time of year and have all the necessary safety equipment along in case of an incident. Remember, no fish is worth a life or risking the lives of others. Whitecaps are still rolling in on Chequamegon Bay with the recent high winds. Stream and River fishing for Trout and salmon is now closed as of November 15th. Lake Trout fishing will re-open on Lake Superior; December 1st. Open water fishing on the Bay was excellent this past week for Smallies, Walleyes and Northern Pike as the fish put on the feedbags in anticipation for the long hard Winter ahead. Trolling Spoons and Stickbaits in the South Channel on the break along side of long island in 40 FOW for Steelhead, Browns and Lakers this past week was very good. Constant action, with a fish on all the time. Competition at this time of year was down to one other boat on the water.

There are still some hardcore Musky fishermen hitting the water during Deer season. Large Suckers, Jerkbaits, Medusa's and Bulldawgs have all been working well. Musky season closes in the Northern zone November 30th. Good luck fishing and tight lines to all !
