Washburn County WI Fishing Report
07/22/15-Reported by Long Lake Bait, Tackle & C-Store
Fishing remains great on Long Lake!!! Biting good right now are lots of nice Sunny's 8-9" Blue Gills, and the Crappie have started back up again! They are shallow off the weed beds 3-5'. Waxies, worms, Crappie Minnows and Panfish leeches are all working! Walleyes are also biting as well as the Small Mouth Bass. They have been reported at depths of 15-22' suspended off the edge of the weed beds. Leeches and crawlers have been working well for jigging and shad raps have been working well for trolling up to 22'. Northern are also biting well on suckers and crank baits. Come on out and join us for some great fishing!

The hot weekend slowed the fishing down, but Monday the anglers got back on the lakes. Nice crappies out of Spring Lake on Orange/Chartreuse jigs with waxies. Lipsie produced some substantial fish lately. One of our guys caught & released a 62" sturgeon by the Trego dam this past week (pic below). Bass fisherman using lots of frogs...Lunkerheads and Boo-yah Pad Crashers.
