OWO Columnist Wayne Morgenthaler and his son Neal spelled double trouble for two Richland County gobblers after four days of not filling tags. We put the May-June issue of On Wisconsin Outdoors to bed last week with 100,000 copies being distributed statewide. Look for your copy at any Kwik Trip statewide…that’s 400 stores ...

WI DNR - Angler Education Update 11/18/14

Can you believe it?

Lakes are already freezing over!

Let us know what you have planned for a community ice fishing event on Free Fishing Weekend,January 17 & 18, 2015.

Please use the planning form in the Free Fishing Weekend link: http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/fishing/anglereducation/FreeFishingWeekend.html

We would be especially thrilled to know that you coaxed adults outdoors this winter to give ice fishing a try.

And do be careful out there - we don't want to rush the season if the ice is not quite ready to support your weight.

A general rule of thumb is 4" of sound ice, but you are the best judge for your safety.
