Mike Foss trail camera - Bayfield County, Wisconsin

trail cam photo of deer

submitted by Mike Foss, Northern Wisconsin Outfitters of Bayfield County, Wisconsin

On Wisconsin Outdoors expert Mike Foss (Northern Wisconsin Outfitters), who specializes in bear guiding in Bayfield County, has seen a severe decline in deer numbers over the last several years with bear numbers increasing.  Entering the final week of the 2011 archery deer season, which took him into January of 2012, his tag still was not filled.  He took his scouting into no-man’s land three miles from the nearest house, found several good bucks grouped together on trail camera, and killed the smallest buck with days left in the season.
