Jerry Kiesow Fly Fishing Report 3-23-2012
After several days of home- keeping and stabilizing business, and with the forecast of thunder showers coming, I decided it was time to go fishing. Specifically, I wanted to catch some suckers to pickle, so I headed north to the small creek in Sheboygan County.
If the fish would hold still, you could cross the creek without getting your feet wet. However, that does not mean they were feeding. I understand from two other fishermen that they were feeding early, but not when I got there,
about 8:30.
I fished for several hours without a bite. Then, as they changed from seeking sex to resting a while, in about 20 to 30 minutes I caught the three suckers in the photo attached, which is all I wanted. Not too bad on a three weight. The fly was a non-descriptive black nymph.

After icing them down, I went to the Sheboygan along A where I switched to the eight weight and fished a streamer; a gaudy Mickey Finn. Fished an hour and caught this lady in the photo. I tried to release her, but as I was putting her back, after a photo, she "spit" out her eggs and rolled over. I could not revive her, so she became fillets for the freezer.
All in all not a bad day for a putzer. Keep a good thought. Check out Kiesow’s website at www.jerrykiesowoc.com.
