Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

Home of Champions Welcomes Scholastic Pistol Program Collegiate Championships

Shelby Township, MI - The Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) will hold its 2013 Collegiate National Championship, March 16th, at FT Benning, GA as part of the Army Strong Collegiate Shooting Championships. This gathering of collegiate shooting athletes is hosted by The United States Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU), known as the Home of Champions, and will be held on their Krilling Range.

"With the USAMU being the Home of Champions, I can't think of a better place to host the SPP Collegiate Championship than FT Benning during the Army Strong Collegiate Shooting Championships", said LTC Don A. King Jr., Commander, U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit. "I look forward to having these college teams join us for the best week in Collegiate Shooting."

College teams from across the country will be vying for titles in both Varsity (centerfire) and Junior Varsity (rimfire) and is being supported by an Industry wide effort to insure the future of the shooting sports. SPP is supported, in part, by founding partners Glock, Smith & Wesson and Action Target. Additional partners include Atlanta Arms & Ammunition, PACT Timers, Tactical Solutions and Winchester Ammunition among others. "Winchester Ammunition has been a supporter of SPP from the beginning and with their support we expect the 2013 SPP Collegiate Nationals to be a huge success", said Tammy Mowry, SPP program manager. "Its sponsors like Winchester that have helped us grow the shooting sports."

The SPP Collegiate National Championship is just one of several larger matches scheduled for SPP this year that will include regionals featuring all three divisions of SPP, Junior, Senior and Collegiate. "The rapid growth of SPP has led to us to schedule more regionals to allow competitors to shoot on a "big stage", said Scott Moore, SPP national director. "And of course there are few bigger stages than FT Benning and the Home of Champions, the USAMU".

SPP is organized based on age, Junior Division (ages 12-16), Senior Division (ages 17-20) and Collegiate Division (no age limit, must be full time student). SPP is based on production center fire handguns firing at steel plate targets and offers an introduction to a lifetime sport that family members can enjoy together.

The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is responsible for all aspects of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Pistol Program (SPP) across the United States, including participant registration, coaches, state coordinators, state and national championships, promotion, communications, websites, public relations and growth strategies The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation exists to raise funding and other resources for Youth Development Programs in the shooting sports industry.

SCTP and SPP are youth development programs, originally developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), where adult coaches and volunteers model sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, and teamwork while using shooting sports programs to teach these and other positive life skills to the athletes.
