Black, minority Trump supporters censored by Gannett, other media at 2020 RNC Convention. Expect the same as Milwaukee hosts 2024 RNC Convention. Look back four years Wisconsin, to compare and contrast Gannett’s corrupt coverage of the 2020 Republican and Democratic National Conventions to know what to expect July 15-18 when the nation’s eyes rest on Milwaukee, home of the 2024 RNC convention.  The DNC will showcase its conventi...

President Obama is a confidence man

By Jim Ellis

President Obama and Vice President Biden are trying to con the American people, using the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings to further their long held desire to restrict the right to bear arms. Remember, this is the gang that holds to the philosophy of never letting a crisis be wasted when it comes to political victories.

Sounding like reasonable men, they use the words “moral obligation” and “responsibility to protect our kids” while perpetrating this scam on America.

The Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) will be called upon to enforce any new legislation or executive orders that restrict the Second Amendment Right to bear arms. Interestingly, of the three areas of responsibility of the ATF, firearms is the least deadly.

Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in the United States according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/

Smoking is responsible for about one in five deaths annually, 443,000 deaths per year. Each day about 1,000 kids under 18 begin smoking on a daily basis. Each day more than 3,800 kids under 18 smoke their first cigarette.

Where are President Obama and Vice President Biden with their moral obligation and responsibility to protect our kids from tobacco? I think they want the tax revenue from tobacco more than they want to protect the children.

Remember, President Obama said “if just one life can be saved we have to try” when talking about restricting the Second Amendment.

Why doesn’t the president ask congress for a total ban on tobacco and save 443,000 lives annually and spare the kids from all the pain of losing loved ones? There is not a constitutional right to smoke.

Now let’s look at alcohol.

http://www.cdc.gov/motorvehiclesafety/impaired_driving/impaired-drv_factsheet.html

The CDC reports that every day almost 30 people die in motor vehicle crashes that involve an alcohol impaired driver. That amounts to one death every 48 minutes.

In 2010, 10,228 people were killed in alcohol impaired driving crashes accounting for 31% of all traffic related deaths in the United States.

Of the 1,210 traffic deaths among children ages 0-14 years in 2010, 211 (17%) involved an alcohol impaired driver. Again where are the president and vice president with their moral obligation and responsibility to protect our children?

CDC figures point to an estimated additional 79,000 alcohol related deaths.  Think of the pain and suffering we could spare the kids if President Obama were to ask congress to ban alcohol consumption totally. I know this has been tried in the past and failed, but isn’t it the presidents’ moral obligation and responsibility to try?  After all we are talking about far more than just one life!

Number 3 on the list of fatalities that fall under the ATF’s responsibilities is homicides by firearms.

According to the CDC, in 2010 there were 11,078 firearm homicides in the United States.

www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/homicide.htm

When discussing these homicides, we often hear that our forefathers did not know what type and how advanced the firearms would be when giving the citizens the Right to Bear Arms. We also hear that hunters don’t have to be concerned because the government isn’t coming after our guns.

Realistically, the framers of the constitution did not know what the firearms would be like today but they did know that there would never be a president, congress or judiciary that would be responsible enough nor trustworthy enough to be given the ability to change the constitution. The framers also knew that we would need to bear arms not for hunting but to keep the government from getting too intrusive. They said fear the government that fears armed citizens.

THAT IS WHY THEY GAVE US THE AMENDMENT PROCESS.

Proposed changes must go through congress and then out to the states for ratification by 2/3 of the states. If that happens and the changes are ratified, then we need to live with those changes.

I am not really advocating the banning of alcohol or tobacco. I am just using the numbers of fatalities to point out the scam President Obama and Vice President Biden are trying to pull off. This is a free country and will stay that way as long as we are armed.

I am advocating contacting your legislators and asking them to stop this infringement on our rights.
