Nothing says, “I’m not carrying a gun,” like a tropical print shirt. I would take that statement a step further and say, nothing says, “I’m really laid back and don’t care much about anything except sipping a piña colada and chillin’ in a hammock on the beach.” It’s with this in mind that BlackHawk! has introduced their Casual Knit Shirt.
Thankfully, they’ve kept the design subdued (if a tropical print shirt can be subdued) and more tasteful (if a tropical print shirt can be tasteful) than the typical tropical print shirt. It has all of the utility that you need in a carry shirt, but in a more relaxed presentation.
Designs such stripes, checkers, and patterns such as floral, serve to break up the outline of your firearm to prevent detection from bystanders. Which is why most carry shirts have some sort of design on them. The tropical floral print goes further and camouflages the wearer from discerning looks inquiring whether they are carrying at all. It has the opposite effect as tactical carry vests.
The relaxed fit shirt is constructed of lightweight, wrinkle-resistant fabric. It has mesh vents in the back for breathability and pleated back yolk for ease of motion. It has Low side slits for easy pant pocket and belt access. It has a zippered chest pocket for storing documents, passports, etc. It also has a new technology in the pocket which protects your electronic devices from radio-frequency identification (RFID) scans.
It comes in Green Tropical, Wine Tropical, and Gray Tropical. MSRP: $69.99. Available: 5/30/2013.
I love gear that doesn’t scream, “I’m a gun owner and I’m most likely carrying.” Don’t get me wrong, I love my tactical and gun shirts, but when I’m carrying, I prefer to be discreet. This shirt here does just that -- provides discretion. It’s a great looking shirt and I’ll definitely be looking one up when they hit shelves.
