RGrizzle Leather: “Countryboy” OWB Holster
The Countryboy is a high-riding, pancake style, outside the waste band (OWB) holster. It’s made of Premium Hermann Oak leather with a heavy-duty stitch that’s both durable and pleasing to the eye. The high ride means that less of the muzzle is going to extend below the belt line, which minimizes the chance it will protrude from under the shirt.
It sits very close to the body for optimum concealability, but a sweat guard keeps the slide off your skin -- to protect the gun from your sweat, and to protect your skin from the bite of the slide. The edges have been expertly burnished, so you won’t have to worry about the edge of the leather cutting into your side. The sides of the holster have a curve to them that is at just the right angle so that the holster hugs your hip. It’s made for all day comfort -- and I do just that; wear it all day, dawn to dusk.

A leather mouth reinforcement is optional and costs $5 extra. I would highly recommend it -- you really don’t want the mouth of your holster to cave in as you’re trying to re-holster your pistol. Plus, it looks really nice; I think it sets it apart from other holsters.
The Countryboy comes in Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Natural and Mahogany. They all look beautiful, but I’m partial to the Dark Brown and Mahogany. It comes in 1.5” and 1.25” belt slot sizes and has a forward cant, which I prefer.
Retention is perfect. With a handgun and full magazine inserted, I can turn it upside down and shake it, and the handgun will stay fully seated. Yet when it’s on my belt and I draw, the handgun comes out smooth as a baby’s bottom. I don’t even know how that’s possible.

I’ve been fortunate in that I’ve been able to park my guns in some fine holsters over the last few years, and this one here is top on my list. The craftsmanship on this holster is superb -- it’s obvious that Ryan has a gift for working with leather. It looks very nice, is built really well and is extremely comfortable to wear. On top of that, the price is very reasonable.
