Week Two Southeast Wisconsin High School Trapshooting Results
The second week of High School trapshooting is complete in the SE WI Trapshooting conference and 670 young athletes have taken shots for the thirteen teams so far. Jefferson and Wilmot have jumped out front in the North and South division standings with several other schools right on their heels.
In the North division, Jefferson broke 121 out of a possible 125 targets for the second straight week to a 104 score from Milwaukee Lutheran. Kevin Krause, Bryce Krause and Cole Mewis were perfect for the Eagles. For the second week in a row Daniel Patterson led the Red Knights with a 23.
Milwaukee Marquette posted a 116 score to triumph over Cudahy by 8 birds. Patrick Beiver paced the Hilltoppers with a 24 while four teammates all chipped in 23’s. George Ademi led the Packers also with a 24.
Josh Bohmann smashed 23 clay birds as the Muskego Warriors downed the Oconomowoc by just three targets 109 to 106. Dalton Dunham, Nick Davy and Ryan Hazzard paced the Coony all with 22 breaks apiece.
In South division action, Brendon Pietschman was clean for Wilmot as the Panthers powered past Union Grove 121 to 108. Four Panthers each pitched in 24’s and Michael Kopecky paced the Broncos with a 23.
Brad Gabrhel’s perfect round was not enough to push the Wolverines past the virtual score of 117 as Waterford put a 115 on the scoreboard.
Senior Mariah Kerr paced the Demons with a 24 as Burlington topped Racine Lutheran 114 to 102. Bryan Thomas carded a 23 for the Crusaders.
Westosha Central was five birds better than Lake Geneva Badger 116 to 111. Mariano Ruffalo and Nathan Miller paced the Falcons with 24 apiece. Joe Altweis and Joe Freeman had 23’s to lead the Badger.
Winners in junior varsity were Westosha Central, Burlington, Wilmot, Waterford, Milwaukee Marquette Jefferson and Muskego.
Jefferson, Marquette and Muskego are standing at 2-0 in the North while Wilmot and Burlington are both 2-0 in the South as we head to week three.
The Mission of the SEWI SCTP Conference is to instill in young people a respect for good sportsmanship, competitiveness, cooperation, teamwork, and high moral character through trapshooting competition.
The SE Wisconsin SCTP Conference was formed to create in young people a set of personal values and character traits such as fair play, compassionate understanding, individual responsibility, self-discipline, and personal commitment - qualities necessary to become successful and contributing members of society. Competition is an important part of the Conference, but it is not the program’s underlying principle. The “win-at-all-costs” philosophy has no place in the Conference. Striving to win while playing by the rules does. It is the DUTY of everyone involved - coaches, parents and participants - to be role models for team members to emulate, by upholding high moral and ethical standards of personal conduct. Our Conference embraces and upholds all the rules, guidelines and standards of conduct; which are listed in the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s SCTP Handbook, Coaches Guidelines, and its Sportsmanship Contract. The safe responsible handling and use of firearms is the foundation of our organization. We believe that trapshooting is a lifetime sport that families can enjoy together and our Conference can bring communities together through interscholastic competition.
