AR-Compatible Bolt-Action Rifle Chambered in 7.62mm NATO
North Haven, CT – Joining the Mossberg Thunder Ranch Series of tactical firearms is the 7.62mm NATO/308 Win chambering of the hugely-popular, AR-magazine compatible MVP Patrol Rifle. Equipped with tactical features recommended by Thunder Ranch President and Director, Clint Smith, the newest member of this series joins a line of personal defense and competition-style firearms that proudly wear the “Thunder Ranch” logo. Introduced in 2013, this series now includes the 500® Thunder Ranch Pump-Action 12-gauge shotgun, the Maverick® HS12™ Thunder Ranch Over-and-Under 12-gauge shotgun, the 5.56mm NATO/223 Rem and new-to-the-family 7.62mm NATO/308 Win-chambered MVP Patrol Thunder Ranch Bolt-Action rifles.
Based in Lakeview Oregon, Thunder Ranch provides personal defensive training and long-range shooting courses to assist in equipment selection and to prepare you to confidently use your defensive equipment. Marine Corps veteran and former SWAT team member, Clint Smith, worked with the Mossberg team to ensure this line of firearms were properly-equipped for Thunder Ranch courses or for your own personal defense needs.
At the core of the versatile MVP platform are patented designs. The 7.62mm MVP Patrol has a patented Dual Push™ bolt design and patented Dual Latch™ system which accepts both M1A/M14 and AR10-style magazines, conveniently allowing for use of aftermarket magazines. Standard features on the MVP Patrol include: Mossberg’s patented LBA™ (Lightning Bolt Action™) Trigger System that is user-adjustable from 3 to 7 pounds and provides a crisp, creep-free trigger pull; distinctive spiral-fluted bolt; factory-installed, receiver-mounted Picatinny rail; dual front and rear sling swivel studs; and 10-round capacity magazine.
The 7.62mm NATO/308 Win MVP Patrol Thunder Ranch features an 18.5-inch carbon steel, medium bull fluted barrel with 1:10 twist rate. Mounted on the barrel is a two-piece Brass Bead sight which consists of an elevated front brass bead sight and adjustable rear rifle sight (for windage and elevation). For ease of mounting compatible suppressors or muzzle brakes, the barrel is threaded and comes with a protective thread cap. Housed in a durable synthetic stock, the MVP Thunder Ranch features a distinctive, textured OD Green finish and complementing matte blue metalwork. Completing the package is the “Thunder Ranch” logo engraved above the magazine well on the right side of the stock.
