• NSSF has filed a motion for judgment in the ongoing suit brought by the Center for Biological Diversity against the U.S. Forest Service to ban the use of traditional lead-component ammunition on National Forest System land under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
• The New Jersey Assembly last Thursday passed (73-0) an NSSF-sponsored bill to change state law to allow manufacturers to sell firearms directly to law enforcement agencies in that state.

• The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service last Friday announced its decision regulating the import of hunted lion trophies from South Africa. The U.S. will not allow the import of lion trophies taken from captive lion populations in South Africa, but wild and wild-managed lions from South Africa will receive import permits. Read more.
• NSSF’s Project ChildSafe firearm safety education program and Cabela's Outdoor Fund have partnered with fish and wildlife agencies in all 50 states to distribute firearm locks and to encourage Americans to "Hunt S.A.F.E." this fall by remembering to handle, transport and store firearms responsibly.
