New York City Follows Nazi Pattern of Gun Confiscation
The City of New York is following thepattern established by the GermanNazi Party on how to control a population of people. On November 27, 2013 the website The Truth About Guns published a letter that NYC is sending to gun owners who have “illegal” firearms and ammunition.
NY City Code – Section 10-306 states,
No person may possess an ammunition feeding device which is designed for use in a rifle or shotgun and which is capable of holding more than five rounds of rifle or shotgun ammunition,
The letter, dated November 18, 2013, gives the recipient three options to dispose of their “illegal” weapons.
- Immediately surrender the weapon to local police
- Permanently remove the weapon from New York City and provide a notarized statement and a utility bill or other proof of where the weapon has been stored.
- Call to discuss the matter further with authorities.
This law and letters such as this may be a common occurrence in NYC, this law has been in effect since 1991, but to the rest of the nation its a surprise. Especially since we have been told countless times that the idea of gun registration, leading to gun confiscation is absurd.
We are also told that any comparison to Hitler and the actions of the GermanNazi Party is ridiculous and making such comparisons puts us in the lunatic fringe category. But the facts are still the facts, the Pre-Hitler Germangovernment required registration of weapons and Hitler used those registration records to confiscate weapons.
Here is an excerpt from the First Regulations of the German Citizenship Law of 14 November 1935, Reichsgesetzblatt I, p. 1333
“Jews are prohibited from acquiring, possessing, and carrying firearms and ammunition, as well as truncheons or stabbing weapons. Those now possessing weapons and ammunition are at once to turn them over to the local police authority.”
The Nazi pattern that the City of New York and the State of New York is following was basic to Hitler’s attempt to exterminate a race of people. The gun registration laws were not passed for any evil sinister purpose, they were passed by a nation of people who wanted a safe society to live, work, and raise their families. The post WWI German people were tired of the violence that existed in their nation and wanted it under control. They had been mislead to believe gun control and gun registration would lead to a safer society. What they never anticipated was the government would use this power and specifically the gun registration laws against them.
Gun Registration Does Lead to Gun Confiscation
It has been proven over and over that any time a government has a list of all guns in a society, eventually that government will attempt to collect those weapons. It happens over and over throughout history and it is happening now in New York City.
The question is when will it happen in the entire state of New York. The recently passed SAFE Act by the New York state legislature restricts gun magazines to 7 rounds, down from previous restriction of 10.
The SAFE Act also creates a more comprehensive database of people barred from owning guns, and makes New York the first state to require background checks to buy bullets. The system was also said to help flag customers who buy large amounts of ammo. In another provision, therapists, doctors and other mental health professionals will be required to tell state authorities if a patient threatens to use a gun illegally. The patient’s weapon could then be taken away.
The City of New York is using its laws to confiscate weapons, the question ishow long will it take before the State of New York uses its laws to begin a gun confiscation campaign. It is coming the only question is when.
The lesson for those of us in other states is to never allow our local and state governments to head down this path. Opposition to any law that creates a list of gun owners must be opposed.
