North Haven, CT – The newest member of the Mossberg centerfire family, the Patriot bolt-action rifle, is now available in a premium scoped combo package featuring the latest riflescope technology from Vortex Optics: the Dead-Hold™ BDC (Bullet Drop Compensation) reticle. Five popular calibers offering this scope option are available, ranging from 243 Win to 300 Win Mag, with a classically-styled walnut stock or black synthetic stock, matte blue metal finish and factory-mounted Vortex Crossfire II variable 3-9x40mm scope.
The newly-released Patriot series of bolt-action rifles combines the most requested features of our field-proven centerfire rifles in a re-engineered bolt-action platform. Hunter-inspired, these newly-designed rifles feature a streamlined bolt handle; aggressively-checkered bolt knob; spiral-fluted bolt; and classically-styled stock. Modern textured stippling on the sides and bottom of the forend and grip provide for a positive hold in inclement weather and the straight comb design with raised cheekpiece provide comfort and less felt recoil. A black rubber recoil pad and sling swivel studs complete the traditional lines of the stock. In this convenient scoped combo package, choose from a handsome walnut stock or more weather-resistant black synthetic stock.
The Patriot rifle is based on Mossberg’s proven twin-lug, push-feed, machined-steel action which is fed from a lightweight polymer, flush box magazine. The button-rifled, standard contour, free-floating 22-inch barrels are constructed of carbon steel, feature straight-edge fluting and 11-degree recessed crowns. Every Patriot rifle also features Mossberg’s patented LBA™ (Lightning Bolt Action™) Adjustable Trigger System which provides a crisp, creep-free trigger to enhance accuracy and is user-adjustable from 2 to 7 pounds.
There’s no compromising on the optics in this value-packed combo. The Crossfire II riflescope features a hard anodized, single-piece, aircraft-grade aluminum tube that is nitrogen-purged and sealed for waterproof and anti-fog performance. Long-eye relief; fast-focus eyepiece; fully multi-coated lenses; and resettable MOA turrets are standard features of the Crossfire II 3-9x40mm scope and its distinctive Dead-Hold BDC hash mark reticle eliminates guesswork on holdover and windage corrections.
