The March 2016 issue features some of our favorite shotgun articles from previous First Shots News editions. As the weather warms, shotgun shooting is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. Hanging out with friends on a sporting clays course is a wonderful way to spend a spring day, and since so many of us are a little rusty from "hibernating" all winter, the competition isn't too fierce. Hopefully, some of the tips in this issue will help you improve your clay target shooting and you, too, can enjoy a round or two with friends.

Gil Ash of OSP Shooting Schools reveals an important concept for shotgun shooters. That is, when shooting a right-to-left crosser a right-handed shooter must look across the shotgun barrel to see the target. The same concept applies to left-handed shooters when shooting a left-to-right crosser.

The shotgun is a tool less precise than a rifle or handgun, but excellent for hitting objects that are flying or running. The single-shot shotgun has been a staple among entry-level shotgunners, but as the game birds pursued by hunters and the clay targets by competitors often present themselves in multiples, the advantage of more than one shot is easily understood.
