Now that the weather is getting nicer, most kids are thinking about baseball and soccer. One sport not to forget about is archery. Get involved in leagues and shoots this summer to keep your archery skills sharp.
Whale-Tales Archery just wrapped up their spring kids league session. It consisted of about 18+ shooters. Everybody starts off at 10 yards, you shoot 3 arrows per round for 10 rounds. The target scoring goes like this: 10 is the yellow, 9 is the blue, and so on and so forth. You need a 270 out of 300 to pass to get a pin, then you can move on to the next yardage, but you also have a choice of staying at that yardage to win a tee-shirt for shooting a perfect 300. After finishing 10 yards, then you would move on to 15 yards and then 20 yards.
There were two archers that stood out from the rest who shot a perfect 300 score, at 10 yards, and were 1st to win the tee-shirts. The two archers were Cedric Hong, and a girl I interviewed in one of my other articles, Kat Vermilyea. She has come a long way in archery to shoot a perfect score after only 7 weeks. We are very proud of both of them!
