Warden, Buffalo County club seek public's help in deer poaching case

Case is reminder poachers active; help wardens stop poachers statewide

DNR Conservation Warden Bob Jumbeck, based in Buffalo County, is looking for information regarding the attempted poaching of a deer in the Alma area.

Warden Jumbeck says on the morning of March 23, which was a Saturday, he responded to an injured deer complaint on County Rd I in the Township of Nelson. Warden Jumbeck says when he found the deer, it was injured in a way that required he humanely put it down. He also discovered the deer had recently been shot.

Based upon the evidence and investigation, it is believed the shooting occurred during the evening hours of Friday, March 22. The Alma Rod and Gun Club has offered a $250 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction to those responsible. To provide information, please call Warden Jumbeck at 608-685-6224. Callers can remain anonymous.
