Where to Hunt (W2H) Mobile GPS based hunting app

SEE MORE. KNOW MORE. HUNT SMARTER.

How many times have you trekked into the woods on public land, arrived at your spot, you’re about to set up and suddenly out of the corner of your eye; a red flash light flickers less than 100 yards away? Conversely, lets say you’re the one shining the light at someone who’s about to set up their spot within your range of sight?

As a public land hunter, no matter what you're hunting; whether it’s bow or gun hunting there are few hunters who are unable to relate to this predicament.

The Where to Hunt mobile app is the virtual version of the red flashlight. There are three major benefits to how the app functions and how it will help you locate your hunting spot, away from other hunters.

CLAIM YOUR SPOT

**FUNCTIONALITY IS DEPENDENT ON THE CELL SERVICE YOUR MOBILE DEVICE HAS**

This is a public feature. Let’s say you pull up to your public plot of land, park your truck and are about to grab your gear. With the Where to Hunt mobile app, you can check your phone first. Simply open the app and you will see who has already “claimed” their spot within the area. There will be green place markers representing where other hunters are located in the woods.

Once you arrive at YOUR spot, simply ‘check in’ and you will see your spot saved and ‘checked’ in, represented with by a blaze orange place marker with the W2H logo. Once you do this, other hunters can also see where you are. Some hunters might think, “why would I want other hunters to see where I am”. Well, there are a few reasons why and why not. Consider, the app will only allow you to “check in” from your actual GPS coordinates. It will not allow you to check in anywhere you are not. On this score, we hope that will actually prevent hunters from going to your spot (at least while you are there). This will prevent the annoying flashlight predicament.

When more hunters use the app, it decreases the likelihood of actually seeing other hunters in the woods by avoiding the ‘claimed’ spots.

KNOW YOUR TARGET AND BEYOND

**THIS IS NOT 100% ACCURATE, AS EVERY HUNTER IS NOT USING THIS APP**

Again, when more hunters use the app it will help determine where hunters are in the woods. Knowing this information, can help increase overall safety in the woods. If you see someone has “checked in”, because the app will only check you in at your actual location, it means someone is physically in that spot.

HUNTING PARTIES

The Where to Hunt mobile app can be extremely helpful when going out with a hunting party. Perhaps you want to send two people off in different directions to drive deer to them. In this case, lets say one gets lost (because everyone has ‘that’ friend) and the other decides they want to sit somewhere other than where they said they were going to be.

With the Where to Hunt mobile app, once your friends settle into their perspective spots, they can “check in”. Once they’re checked in, you can see exactly where they are. This is a HUGE benefit when it comes to the safety of your party AND increases the accuracy of your deer drive! Keep in mind, you can also still see where other hunters are that have checked in. This can help you avoid driving deer to the wrong hunter.

RECREATING

Perhaps you’re not a hunter at all and you simply want to spend the day outside. All the same principles and functionality apply. If you’re a photographer and you want other people to know where you are; maybe its loved one’s at home or you want the hunters in the woods to know your presence for safety. Simply check in and any other user of the Where to Hunt app can see where you are located.
