Time with family and friends in the field highlights 164th annual nine-day gun deer hunt
MADISON - Hunters of all ages journeyed into the outdoors with family and friends for another nine-day gun deer opener in Wisconsin.
Hunters throughout Wisconsin have done an excellent job of learning new rules and regulations, and electronic registration has provided added convenience while keeping time-honored traditions intact.

Preliminary registration numbers and license sales

Electronic deer registration through the GameReg system<http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/hunt/ereg.html> allows for up-to-date preliminary registration numbers on the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources' website throughout the nine-day gun deer season.
Preliminary gun deer harvest information is summarized by both county and management zone, and will continue to be updated regularly through the end of the nine-day season. NOTE: Hunters must register their deer by 5 p.m. the day after harvest in 2015, as opposed to 5 p.m. the day after the nine-day season closes in years past - this means that caution should be used in interpreting harvest trends as the data sources are different than in years past during the season.
