Pet Dog Depredated in Wood County; Hunting Dogs Injured in Forest County

USDA Wildlife Services has confirmed the following conflicts:

  • On September 26, 2020, wolves injured a pet Black Labrador in the Town of Cary, Wood County. The dog was euthanized as a result of the injuries.
  • On October 3, 2020, wolves injured two trailing hound dogs in the Town of Alvin, Forest County.  A third dog was killed by wolves in the Town of Stambaugh, Iron County, Michigan.

More information and caution-area maps are available on the gray wolf webpage.

Hunters are reminded to use the caution-area maps on the DNR website (dnr.wi.gov, keyword "wolf depredation") to help reduce conflicts.
