I have a few Muzzle Loader hunters pulling in on Friday all week. Due to the snow storm the deer have been hunkered down and moving very little. We have so much snow here I have not been able to get to some of my favorite deer stands. Unfortunately I will not be able to get to some of my trail cameras until spring.

If this is any indication of what this winter is going to be like, our Northern deer herd is in serious trouble. Stopped at the local gas station to fill up, ran into Doug. He runs one of the big buck contests boards. I asked him how many hunters signed up. He said around 170. I asked how many bucks were registered. He looked at me as if he didn't want to say, rolled his eyes and said 13.
