On 11/23/2014, the second day of the gun deer season I shot my first deer. I was on private hunting land near Pardeeville, WI. When I sat down in my tree stand it was still rather dark out. As I started to look around I soon realized there was a dark figure off in the distance that I hadn't seen there during past hunting trips . I tried to look at it through my scope but I still couldn't determine if it was a deer.
As the sun came out I could finally see that it was a big buck. He was standing about 70 yards out facing me head on. I knew if I waited any longer he would see me and run so I took the shot. I was certain he had dropped right there but my boyfriend got down from the stand to check and he confirmed that my shot was successful. When I got down from my stand and saw how big the deer was and that he was a ten pointer I couldn't believe it. The antlers had a 17 inch spread. I'm getting the deer mounted and this experience will be a memory I'll never forget.
