Apply for a seat on your County Deer Advisory Council – applications are due in less than a week
Qualified applicants have until July 1 to submit an application for a spot on a County Deer Advisory Council. Councils were established in 2014 and develop county-specific deer population objective recommendations and help guide herd management through permit issuance and season structure.
Councils review a variety of deer metrics to form recommendations, including impacts to habitat and various human-deer interactions. The three-year review of population objectives will occur this fall, likely in August or September, so now is the perfect time to let your voice be heard and apply to join a council.Applicants chosen for council seats will be notified in August.
