DeerFest Partners With The Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club
DeerFest and The Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club have agreed to a partnership which allows all DeerFest attendees to have their racks and sheds officially scored free for the next 4 years.
“Everyone loves to look at big racks, and shed hunting is one of the fastest growing areas of the deer hunting world. We are thrilled to work with the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club to offer all DF Attendees the opportunity to have their racks or sheds officially scored for FREE,” stated DF owner, Hugh McAloon.
The Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club is the preeminent scorer and record keeper for trophy deer in the state of Wisconsin. Founded in 1965 this volunteer group has scored thousands and thousands of trophy deer. More than 20,000 entries have been recorded in their records, of which over 12,000 are Pope & Young and over 3,000 are Boone & Crockett. In 1996 the State of Wisconsin Assembly passed a joint resolution recognizing the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club as the state of Wisconsin’s official big game records keeper. The Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club will assist DeerFest attendees who wish to have their trophies entered into all categories where it meets minimum qualifications. Fees for entering into the record keeping organizations are as follows: WBBC: $10., Pope & Young Club: $35., Boone & Crockett: $40. These fees are for record book entry only, all scoring at DeerFest is free.
DeerFest attendees who bring their racks or sheds to the event for scoring and display will automatically be entered into a “Best of Show” contest. Plaques will be awarded for:
• Best of Show Firearms Typical and Non-Typical: Adult and Youth • Best of Show Archery Typical and Non-Typical: Adult and Youth • Best of Show Sheds Typical and Non-Typical: Adult and Youth
All racks and sheds must stay on display until 3PM on Sunday, August 2nd to be eligible for awards.
DeerFest attendees who bring racks or sheds for scoring / display will be given the opportunity to purchase a 3-day pass at the discounted rate of $20. There is no additional fee to have either racks or sheds scored.
