Central Wisconsin Outdoor Report 9/1/14
With water temperatures still hovering around that 70 degree mark it has made for an interesting summer bite for all species. The musky bite still going strong with action coming on large bucktails, top water baits and jerkbaits. Activity for walleyes has been steady with a few nice fish being caught this past week. Action for bass has been good on spinnerbaits, topwater baits and plastics. The bite for panfish has been ok with some decent catches of crappies and bluegills along with some nice white bass showing up occasionally. The big header this week is the opening of the 2014 bear season which starts next week. Most of our bait stations have been very active with lots of nice bears coming in and multiple bears at most stations. A lot of the bears are in the 125 to 225 pound range but we are getting a few that may be pushing over 300 pounds. With any luck we will have some great photos for you next week of hunter success. Have a great week, and good luck to the bear hunters.
