Dick's Tip: A Superior Experience

With more than 1,000 field columns in my wake traveling Wisconsin over 20 years, I know that we’re in a state of “Natural Highs”. Bad economy going to keep you home? That might be a problem living somewhere else.  Here?  No problem.  Keep the travel in-state and you will be wanting for nothing.

Anglers, take this tip but do not forget to take your families.  A trip from Ashland to Superior means unending, fabulous multi-species fishing. Take your pick.  From world class Chequamegon Bay smallmouth to Brule Trout to St. Louis River Walleyes (and so…so much in between), experience extraordinary scenery with rod-bending expectations.

Never played in Superior country? Shame on you.  Take Highway 2 from Ashland to Superior, or head north on Highway 13 west of Ashland along Chequamegon Bay, then west out of Red Cliff along the big lake to Superior. Contact the local Chambers of Commerce and Tourism services for specific information.  And enjoy a Superior experience.
